Bergen Pride (Regnbuedagene i Bergen) is Norway’s second-largest Pride celebration, transforming the coastal city of Bergen into a vibrant rainbow hub each June.
In 2025, Bergen Pride runs from June 13–21, culminating in a major parade on Saturday, June 21. Known for its community feel and cultural programming, Bergen Pride honors both celebration and activism amid the city’s scenic fjord backdrop.
Bergen Pride Parade
Bergen’s Pride Parade is the capstone event, set for Saturday, June 21, 2025. Thousands will gather at Festningskaien by late morning, with individual participants welcome (no registration needed) and groups assembling floats and banners. The parade steps off at 13:00 and winds through the city center. Expect a moving sea of rainbows as about 50,000 people march alongside festive vehicles and marching bands.
Pride parades here are both protest and party, so you’ll see families, activists, and allies celebrating diversity in Bergen’s streets. Local Tip: Bring a lightweight rain jacket or poncho – Bergen’s weather can change quickly, but a little drizzle won’t dampen the Pride spirit.
Bergen's Rainbow Days
Bergen Pride was among the earliest Pride events in Norway outside Oslo, marking a critical step for visibility in Western Norway. The festival’s name “Regnbuedagene” means “Rainbow Days,” reflecting its mission to uplift love and diversity year-round.
Over the years, Bergen Pride has maintained a strong human-rights focus. The Pride House program (June 14–18) carries forward Bergen’s activist heart, hosting debates, workshops, and art exhibitions on LGBTQ+ issues – a tradition that in past years has spotlighted topics like trans rights and international solidarity.
After the Parade
Pride Park is the ultimate 3-day party at Bergen Pride. Running from June 19th to 21st, Pride Park focuses on celebrating queer music and culture.
On the 21st, don’t leave right after the parade. Saturday evening’s Pride Park closing concert is a highlight, often featuring Norwegian talents amid a joyous open-air dance party. It’s free and the energy is infectious as Pride week comes to a climax.
